At the threshold of faith

“I have set before you life and death,
blessing and curse. Choose life.”
(Deuteronomy 30:19)

Vastness…
Holding a million moving littlenesses
Each little thing… in motion, made complete
Complete… as green gifts, tender and deep
Deep… a destined meeting, hand in hand.

Vastness…
Granting equal wings… for endless flight
Flight through every sky… O miracle of life
Length and breadth primeval… from the One Unbegun
Unbegun, unending… the Self-existent Root of Love.

Vastness…
Awakened by God, dawned into being by God
Day and night for His children to choose
Creative mind, learning to promise oneself
Bearing responsibility… the faithful, chaste path bound.

Vastness…
So far it sounds—yet how near it presses
Endless arteries of love… nothing impossible
For freedom was set in place from ancient time
Why hesitate… at the threshold of Faith?
