WHO GOES TO KINH BAC
Who is going to horseback to Kinh Bac?
Please kindly carry a letter for me!
Alas, I was ill and had to rest in an inn,
No friends but only poems.
Out off window: withered sky,
several leaves fall down, remind me of autumn!
Grommy evening falls slowly
and mist drops with yellow leaves
Oh, Horseman ridering to Kinh Bac!
I would like him to send the letter
to my dear aging mother.
I tried my best to tell him to pause
but I could not do so
because my breath was too weak
And horses’ hooves beat faded away….
